As Princess Thalia Janick was named as the new Queen of Velmor several objections arose throughout the event. Most notable three persons came forward, the Grandfather of Thalia, Selkisto Horten, long-time Velmor politician, Hixal Aulus and Tython Senator Sapphire Tafo. Other murmurs were also heard from the audience time to time but were mostly drowned out by the large number of supporters invited to the event.
Before the actual ceremony had began, Selkisto Horten took the floor. One of the writers of the PGA constitution so long ago he was clearly angered by the ceremony. In his own words this is what he had to say “Look at this crap. Look at it. Do you know what Velmor stood for? It stood for freedom- for democracy. It stood for being willing to get your hands dirty, to get down in the mud and live in it for twenty years for what you believed in. These people,” he swings his cane towards the throne people, “these people are closet despots. They glorify everything and everyone, every ideal that we oppose. They say we ‘want a monarch again.’ What the kriff is that poodoo? Does anyone seriously believe that? Just abandon hard-fought democracy on a whim? You know what I feel, standing up here? I feel shame. Shame for this planet- for this galaxy. For my family. And I am disgusted. All this crap all over the place, the fancy poodoo. This is all junk. It’s nonsense. It’s illusions. And you’re all deluded if you think any of this makes a lick of sense.” These comments then earned him with a banishment from the ceremony and the city itself as he was escorted away by armed security.
On a follow-up he contacted GNN to add this saying it was his next words if he hadn’t been escorted away “I am literally this woman’s grandfather. I wasn’t invited to her coronation. I’m not good enough to stand among people who appear out of nowhere to claim titles and pretty dresses, and do jack all else. This is a farce. And what I want you to do is get up, raise your arms int he air and shout, ‘I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!’ Except you won’t do that because you’re all lazy, blind, delusional kriffers”
End of Ceremony arguments
Next near the end of the ceremony, Hixal Aulus made himself known to the galaxy once again by coming forward. He made the claim that he was locked away by those composing of the new Velmor Monarchy without evidence and without the rights afforded to Republic citizens. As he was making claims of his rights, security headed by Republic Commander Cirden Fang arrested the former politician on a charge of heading the conspiracy that crinkcrinkinated a Chancellor. Hixal then said he would defend himself in this unfair trial to show the galaxy how republic citizens were treated. With that he was taken into custody and transported away.
At the end of the ceremonies, Tython Senator, Sapphire Tafo who has been a vocal opposition against several of the monarchies also made public statements denouncing the coronation of this Queen. In her own words she had this to say, “The democracy has fell apart. Worlds are turning to absolute regimes and the people can just mourn their lost freedom” and the “poisonous regime contaminated the value in the Republic. One monarch pcrinked, then another, from a blocking minority, you’ve now infiltrated our institution and cannot be blocked by the law… And the result is no more solidarity with the people, nepotism and diplomacy with the arms in hand.” Many looked enraged at the senator, even some looking to take physical action, but everyone’s self control and Tafo’s large head of security, Shogarii seemed to have given them pause and she left without further incident. Furthermore on leaving in a satirical statement the Senator stated that if she is arrested for speaking out she’ll just call her aunt up and have her send her fleet to rescue her.
At the banquet there was talk about the objectors, most agreeing that they shouldn’t have interrupted such a ceremony, but no one really knew exactly what would happen to those taken into custody. As for Senator Tafo, many of the Senators spoke about an investigation of Treason against her, but wouldn’t give details, evidence, or any other statements, citing security and that the ceremony wasn’t the place to answer such questions.
